Materials & Care Instructions
Materials:
Mohair Fabric: Over 150 years ago, the first teddy bears were designed and made out of mohair and we think it’s still the best fabric for the job. Our fabric is carefully woven on one of only a few looms left in the world: mohair fibers (sheared from the mohair goat) are looped onto cotton backing, creating a 100% natural fur that’s durable, beautiful, and totally unique.
Cotton: We use woven cotton, both natural and conventionally dyed. This high quality durable fabric is lovely to work with and even better for play.
Cotton Stuffing: We want what’s inside to be just as good as what’s on the outside, for that reason we use 100% Cotton grown in the USA. Our cotton stuffing has never been processed and contains no bleaches, dyes, fire retardants, or fungicides. More over, we use the leftover fiber discarded by the textile industry, putting to use what was previously seen as waste. That’s good for us, good for your little ones, and good for the planet.
Soft-Poly Stuffing: Poly-fill has it’s place. We use it in our PDC Rabbits for a soft squishy feel, and to ensure ease of washing and drying.
Additional Fabrics: We’re constantly cycling through beautiful textiles. While there are too many to list here you’ll find 100% wool, linen and cotton throughout the PDC Line. We’re doing out best to seek out organic fibers whenever we can but the majority of the fabrics we use are conventional.

Care Instructions:
Life can be messy, especially where kids are involved. It’s important to us that we’re able to clean it up now and again. Please see below for laundering recommendations for all PDC toys below.
* PDC Bears: Spot clean and set in the sun to dry. For a deeper clean, place inside a small laundry bag and machine wash. Only PDC Bears stuffed with polyfill should go into the wash stuffed- if your bear is stuffed with 100% cotton, you can unstuff the cotton stuffing from these to launder in cold water with a mild soap. Air dry or tumble dry on low. Remove any clothing before laundering.
PDC Big Bears: Remove all clothing. Spot clean and set in the sun to dry.
PDC Classic Bears: Remove all clothing. Spot clean and set in the sun to dry.
PDC Cuddling Rabbits and Animals: Place inside a small laundry bag and machine wash in cold water with a mild soap. Air dry or tumble dry on low.
* PDC Floppy Bears: Spot clean and set in the sun to dry. For a deeper clean, place inside a small laundry bag and machine wash in cold water with a mild soap. Air dry or tumble dry on low. Remove any clothing before laundering.
* PDC Rabbit Rattle: Spot clean and set in the sun to dry. For a deeper clean: place inside a small laundry bag and machine wash. Be sure to remove necktie and hand wash separately. Air dry or tumble dry on low. *
* PDC Medium & Large Rabbits: Remove all clothing. Spot clean and set in the sun to dry.
* PDC Clothes: All clothes may be gently hand washed and laid flat to dry.
*A note about laundering and wear*
Spot washing and air-drying are always the most gentle method of wet laundering. While there is no harm in getting your bear or rabbit wet, the trick is getting him completely dry. The hot sun is the best option but in a pinch, some bears may be tucked in a laundry bag to dry on low. This will certainly add wear and personality to your bear, but we openly admit we like any wear that comes from a well-loved plaything. Be sure that all the moisture is out of the stuffing before you return the freshly washed friend to your beloved.
Notes for the Handy: with Larger Rabbits or Bears, feel free to unstuff the bodies of these pieces and wash them that way. Once dry, stuff them again.
